Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I visit the dentist for a check-up?

The American Dental Association recommends visiting the dentist every six months for a regular check-up and professional cleaning. However, the frequency of your visits may vary depending on your oral health needs. Your dentist (link to #our-doctors) will assess your specific situation and suggest an appropriate schedule.

What options do you offer for teeth whitening?

We offer take-home whitening kits. Custom whitening trays will be made to fit your teeth which will allow you to whiten your teeth at your convenience. Whitening gel can be purchased at the office as needed.

What age should my child start visiting the dentist?

We recommend your child start visiting the dentist around the age of three to four years old. You’re always welcome to bring your child with you to your dental appointments before that age to make them more comfortable with the process. Early dental visits help monitor dental development, educate parents about oral hygiene for children, and detect and prevent potential issues at an early stage.

What payment options do you accept?

We accept various payment options, including credit/debit cards and dental insurance. We also offer financing options or payment plans for extensive treatments or procedures. Our team can provide more specific information regarding payment at your visit or by contacting our office.

Do you offer clear aligners?

Our highly trained doctors employ the SureSmile system and cutting-edge technology to craft personalized sets of removable aligners. These aligners are specifically designed to fit your unique dental structure. By utilizing these invisible, clear trays to reposition your teeth, we can enhance many different smiles. This method is often preferred over traditional metal braces. Our dedicated staff will guide you in selecting the most suitable options to ensure your long-term dental well-being.

Why are my teeth sensitive?
Tooth sensitivity can occur when the protective enamel on your teeth wears down or when your gums begin to recede, exposing the underlying dentin. This can make your teeth more reactive to hot, cold, sweet, or acidic foods and drinks. Common causes include tooth decay, worn fillings, gum disease, teeth grinding, or using a hard-bristled toothbrush. If you’re experiencing ongoing sensitivity, Cornerstone Family Dentistry can help identify the cause and recommend effective treatments to relieve your discomfort.
